Fractions flowers Created By Room 3
These flowers were made by Room 3 students as part of fractions learning.
Why should we make fractions flowers? Room 3 students believe that this is a great way of learning about fractions. Making fractions flowers is fun way of learning fractions says Ayla because it is fun ,beautiful and Maths and Art are put together.
We also think that it is not only fun learning but these flowers can make nice gifts too.

Bucket fillers and bucket dippers
From Garden To Table
Recount By Jade and Ahmed I
On Wednesday 17th of May Ahmed and I got chosen to go to "Garden to Table " special class.
The first thing we did was to go to our vegetable garden and get some fresh vegetables. Then we came back to the hall and started preparing some yummy food.
We made some vegetable soup and delicious garlic bread. We made some cake with strawberry strips. After that we took a taste test.It was a great experience!
Bucket Fillers and Bucket Dippers
Room 3 is learning about bucket filling. It goes like this. Everyone carries an invisible bucket.
How do you fill a bucket?
You can become a bucket filler when you are kind to other people or when are polite.Being helpful is a good thing. It fills your bucket. You feel really happy when your bucket is full.
When you fill other's bucket you will fill your bucket too. Fill someone's bucket by showing love and sharing.
Room 3 chose some letters of the alphabet that will help us fill our buckets.
C stands for caring for other people.
H stands for being helpful
P stands for being polite
R stands for being respectful
F stands for being friendly
L stands for being a good listener.

LINKING SHAPES WITH IDEAS
This week we wanted to describe Room 3 in a shape. I organised the children in groups of 3,4,or 5 and then asked them all the same question:- What shape should Room 3 be described as and why? Here are their answers.
- Group 1 ( Rhythm,Mustafa,Thomas,and Elijah)
We want Room 3 to be a Question Mark. We chose this shape because we are always thinking and want to solve problems together.
- Group 2 ( Neel,Patience,Ayla,Aesia)
- Group 3 (Najah, Ruth,Kohtaro,Hardil)
We want Room 3 to be a Square. We picked a square because we are all equal like the equal sides of a square.
- Group 6 (Jade ,Ahmad I,Aniar)
We want Room 3 to be a triangle. This explains that by folding our arms and feet on the mat allows us to keep ourselves safe.

Matariki
In Matariki people hunt for the highest place they know, and look for the seven stars and think about their ancestors. You can also have a feast to share food and talk about things that have happened. Matariki is a special time fro Maori people because it shows the time to grow crops. Matariki is able to last from 14th June to 14th July, and some people spend their time to be happy with friends and family by coming together. - Neel
Clay Tiles
Last term we made clay tiles. First we used our rulers to cut out a square then we designed our tile. After that we used our pen to draw out patterns. After that we painted our tiles. Mrs Goundar made a hole in our tile . We hung them up on a fake paper tree. - Xavier
