Matariki

In Matariki people hunt for the highest place they know, and look for the seven stars and think about their ancestors. You can also have a feast to share food and talk about things that have happened. Matariki is a special time fro Maori people because it shows the time to grow crops. Matariki is able to last from 14th June to 14th July, and some people spend their time to be happy with friends and family by coming together. - Neel

Clay Tiles

Last term we made clay tiles. First we used our rulers to cut out a square then we designed our tile. After that we used our pen to draw out patterns. After that we painted our tiles. Mrs Goundar made a hole in our tile . We hung them up on a fake paper tree. - Xavier

  1. Hi Room 3,

What a fabulous post. It's really good to see you describing the way you made the tiles. I bet it took ages. If you get a chance to take some close ups of the tiles I'd love to see them. Thanks so much for sharing your learning.
